Rick Mazurowski
Rick Mazurowski is a retired church organist, having played for Sunday services for over 49 years in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Hilo—and now enjoys subbing as needed, on the Big Island. He was Choir director and organist at Christ Lutheran and Holy Apostles Episcopal Church here in town. He has been a member of the American Guild of organists since 1972, and trained under Ed Ladouceur at the USAF Academy. Rick also plays weekly Theatre Organ shows at the Hilo Palace Theater before the Thursday movie, and has also accompanied the Messiah Sing Along for many years, along with Walter. Rick is also a retired Delta Airlines pilot — he is quick to point out that playing a pipe organ is much harder than flying an airliner!
Walter Greenwood
Walter Greenwood’s career encompassed significant roles in technology and engineering before becoming the busiest accompanist on the Big Island. His work as an Engineer at Allen Organ explains his expertise inside the organ as well as at the keyboard. Well known for his performances at the Hilo Palace Theater’s silent movie series, Walter works in community musical theater, and is on the performing arts faculty at UHH, where he works with choral groups and in the applied music program.
