Tis the Season for Giving

The Christmas Fund “Good news…Great joy…All the people!” (Luke 2:10)

Gifts to the annual Christmas Fund special mission offering embody the spirit of the season by supporting those in need who have faithfully served the church. For over 100 years, the Christmas Fund for the Veterans of the Cross and the Emergency Fund has been a tangible expression of God’s love and light in the world. One of four special mission offerings of the United Church of Christ, the Christmas Fund provides UCC congregations and members an opportunity to reach out in kindheartedness to those who have shepherded our church and who now find themselves facing unexpected financial needs. The past 18 months have had a profound impact on UCC clergy and congregations – physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. Last year, donations to the Christmas Fund helped pay the rent for low-income retired ministers and bridged the gap for one active minister’s family when her husband lost his restaurant due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Christmas Fund gifts took care of the unexpected expense of a major car repair, helped a retired minister attend his brother’s funeral and assisted in paying for daunting medical expenses, prescriptions and groceries. We invite you to join again thousands of UCC members and congregations who support this year’s appeal as we anticipate the good news of great joy at Christmas. We will dedicate the Christmas Fund on December 12th. Please use the enclosed envelope for your donation. Thank you for supporting this special offering.
