Holy Listening Workshop

The Rev. Caroline Miura will lead a workshop on Sunday, December 15 after our 10 AM worship service on “Holy Listening,” a way to come to a deeper understanding of another person’s ideas, feelings, and experiences. Join us in a participatory experience of deep and sacred listening: listening directed toward helping the storyteller share fully.

  • Learn how to lay aside the impulse to think about what you’ll say next.
  • Learn how to lay aside judgment or the impulse to “fix it.”
  • Learn how to share, and how to receive sharing.

The Rev. Caroline Miura, BCC, serves as Bereavement and Spiritual Care Coordinator for Kaua`i Hospice. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, she has extensive experience as a family and bereavement counselor, as well as pastoral leadership. Her studies include Non Violent Communication, Women’s Spirituality, Applied Meditation and Alternative Forms of Holistic Healing, Anger Management, Alcohol/Substance Abuse Certification Training, Hospice/ Bereavement Training, South Africa Study Tour, and Oahu’s Teen Institute Training on Resiliency.
