Hale Iki Meal Project

Residents of the temporary shelter villages at Hale Iki in Hawaiian Paradise Park and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa do not have cooking facilities in their “tiny shelters”.

Faith communities are stepping forward to provide meals as these people, driven from their homes by the summer’s volcanic eruption, seek permanent places to live.  Church of the Holy Cross will be among the first. We will bring one hot meal a day for the next five days – October 1-5 – and also stock pantries with the makings for lunches and breakfasts (that don’t require cooking).

Mahalo nui loa to all who will help with this project this Monday through Friday. If you can help out, please call Momi at the church office,  935-1283. Please keep the families, project coordinators and volunteers in your prayers.
