Church of the Holy Cross now in the Blue Zone

Church of the Holy Cross has received its approval for certification as an official “Blue Zones Project Faith-based Organization.”

Members of The Gathering Place took on the responsibility of meeting the requirements to qualify, which included activities to encourage healthy living.   We have eaten the vegetables we grew in our little garden by the shed, had speakers educate us on healthy foods and cooking, a master gardener shared tips, and we continue to walk for exercise and fresh air!

Jade Iokepa, Community Engagement Lead for East Hawai`i will present us with a banner and  certificate during our worship service on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Please join us for a group photo after worship service. The Gathering Place members and Blue Zones will be serving refreshments. This is your chance to learn more and ask any questions you may have about the project whose goal is to help us live healthy, safe lives!
