UPDATE: 2018 Bread for the World Gives Thanks to You

UPDATE: We had a very successful Bake Sale and Letter Writing event for Bread For The World on Sunday, April 22nd. The tables were filled with baked goods, cookies, bread, pretzels, cakes, and candies. Also included were sushi rice, pickled vegetables, flowers and more. Thank you to all who participated in the event by baking, cooking, and donating items to purchase. Thank you to all who purchased the items and generously donated money. We will donate $920.55 to Bread For The World from the bake sale.
We also sent 70 letters to our Congressional Delegates regarding the need for changes in our laws to help those living in poverty and in need of food.
Thank you for helping to send these letters so that they will know we are concerned as a church community about the need to sup-port changes in our laws regarding those in poverty.

Anpan Man returns to Church of the Holy Cross’ annual Bake Sale and Letter Writing to our Congressional Delegates on Sunday, April 22, 2018. For our annual bake sale, we are asking members to provide baked goods, pickled vegetables, sushi rice, and any other types of prepared food.  This event has always been well supported by the membership, so plan to bake or cook something for the sale and also come prepared to purchase the many delicious items.

Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice, urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad.  We provide help and opportunity far beyond the communities in which we live by changing policies,  programs, and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist.  Please come prepared to sign letters to our senators and representatives in Congress to help end world hunger.

Remember the date: Sunday, April 22, 2018. Letter writing will be held before the 10 AM Worship service, and the bake sale will be held after the service.
