2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Hilo will be held on Saturday, September 16 at Queen Lili`uokalani Park. Registration starts at 7 a.m., and the walk starts at 8 a.m. circling the Park. Join our Church of the Holy Cross team in this community activity to support those suffering from dementia. You may walk with us, or make a donation and give it to someone walking. We will meet at church upper parking lot at 7 am to pool rides to the park.
We have been participating in this Walk for several years now, and have been honored in the past for raising funds to help the Alzheimer’s Association provide services for Big Island residents. Chris Ridley works with our Caregivers Support Group that meets at our church on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
If you are unable to join us for the Walk, we encourage you to help support our team by making donations to the “Alzheimer’s Association”, a non-profit organization, and giving your gift to one of our walkers. Some of those walking are Pastor Eric, Eileen, Connie, James, Barbara, Mary Ann, Kay, Gloria, and Anne. Those who raise $100 or more will get a t-shirt. Registration forms, donation forms for those using credit cards, and contribution tracking forms are available in the back of the sanctuary. If you have any questions, please see Anne and let Anne know if you are planning to walk. Thank you for your support.
