“We Are the Arctic” author to visit June 26, 2016

Aloha, friends,

This coming Sunday, June 26, 2016, we will be blessed to have Miho Aida with us after worship to tell us about the work of Gwich’in women who are struggling to preserve their sacred lands in Alaska. Miho is one of 25 authors of a new book on the issue, We Are the Arctic, and has directed a short film in which we hear some of those Alaskan voices.

Please join us in the Building of Faith at 11:30 am (following 10:00 am worship) to see her 20-minute film, learn more about the issues and the struggles, and to engage in conversation. Miho will also be signing copies of We Are the Arctic for those interested.

We’ve tried to schedule this event to permit members of other faith communities to attend, even if they worship at 10:00 am on Sunday morning as we do! I hope you’ll find the attached flyer (click here to view) useful in spreading the word among your congregation.

Blessings to you!

Eric Anderson
